Oksana, A Russian-born American, is a renowned pianist, composer, public speaker, and child educator who is widely admired for making a big difference in the lives of many people & organizations. She is a powerful and determined woman who deals with life, love, and business with a positive mentality and a sense of humor. Her journey began when she moved to Kazakhstan from Russia at the age of 7 and started learning classical piano in a music school. With a long and illustrious career in music, she has performed throughout the world and won several awards for her excellence as a pianist and composer. A woman with a big heart, Oksana Kolesnikova is a hopeful and confident role model that every business should be proud of. With a positive and upbeat outlook, she is sure to bring the power of womanhood to the world. Inception story – Pianist Turned Entrepreneur   A sense of purpose, a pursuit of curiosity, and a chance to make a meaningful mark on the world are what Oksana Kolesnikova lives for.  As a shy child, she used to have trouble expressing herself. Oksana saw the magic happening right when she discovered her love for the piano. Thanks to her supportive parents who introduced her to this form of art. Born in Siberia, Russia, she got enrolled in a music school when she moved to Kazakhstan. Then, in her teens, Oksana moved to the US where she grasped a treasure trove of opportunities while pursuing her music training. Soon after, she bagged a scholarship in the Florida State Young Artists Symposium Competition which gave her a blissful chance to first study at Saint Petersburg College (Florida), and later at Florida State University. Definitely a pleasant turning point in her life, in 1999 Oksana met her husband-to-be, Alex, at his birthday party before attending FSU. They were married in 2000 and he became her career manager.  In 2006, the duo moved to LA. This award-winning artist started her journey after graduation as a performing artist across Florida. Having repeatedly played piano, her fan base began to grow immensely and it indeed led to a palpable surge in her confidence. But she did not stop there! Her drive to achieve the best made her land a prestigious position as an in-house pianist at the legendary Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills Hotel. Oksana remembers, “It was a good learning curve for me as I performed there daily to the world-famous movie stars, celebrities, world leaders and famous entrepreneurs, people that I only used to see on TV, growing up in Russia.” As time slipped by, she became a marvelous mother to her son, Alessandro, in 2009. Although a perfect way to restore love & sanity, that phase came with a nice bundle of changes in her career as she couldn’t travel as a performer any longer. As a highly experienced professional musician, she went ahead and explored a whole host of possibilities. “I am grateful to the 7 years playing experience at the Polo Lounge. I started to build my private studio of piano students, many of whom were celebrities and their kids that I met at my glamorous gig,” Oksana adds. Later, she also opened Oksana School of Music, where she hired other instructors to teach diverse instruments alongside her. Little did she know the destiny was all prepared to feed her entrepreneurial spirit.  After hustling constantly, Oksana opened her first company: Oksana Management Group, Inc. Luckily, the idea of her business model blossomed into a success. She states, “OMG focused on including not only music services, but also foreign languages, academic tutoring, Art, Acting/Drama, Chess, Financial Literacy for children and teens, and many other after school enrichment programs that are now offered not only to private clients but also to the schools (public, private, charter), school districts, municipalities and counties as well as online customers.” After soaking up the appreciation, this charismatic female entrepreneur decided to franchise her company in 2019 and that’s when her second company Oksana Franchising International was born. With a proven track record in the industry, her company is proud to offer franchising opportunities designed for entrepreneurs who want to get into the rewarding field of education. Besides, Oksana Franchising International is committed to the growth and success of its franchisees and the communities they serve. In 2020, Oksana Kolesnikova opened her 3rd company Oksana Foundation, which is a non-profit organization with a big mission. “I had a dream of having my own foundation for many years. As an artist, I used to perform at numerous fundraisers and charities events for many years, and I always dreamed to have one of my own foundation one day. I have received overwhelming support from our donors and sponsors who joined our mission to make this world a better place,” Oksana includes. The foundation is created with an aim to spread the message of hope and offer positive, creative outlets that will give children a sense of purpose. Since its opening, it has provided extracurricular educational opportunities to countless underprivileged children, free of charge. Apart from this, Oksana and her team have dedicated their time, energy, and resources to help kids who have been affected by the recent global pandemic. The world has been captivated by Oksana’s talent and perseverance to pursue dreams, without the shadow of a doubt. Her indomitable spirit towards life inspires millions of women to hustle

Lionel Lodge
Spotlight

Lionel Lodge (SyncLodge) – Most Passionate And Versatile Business Leader Of the year 2025

Lionel Lodge Founder, CEO at SyncLodge Kindly brief us about the outset story of your career. I have been connected to or worked in the entertainment industry for all my life. My father (Tom Lodge) was program director and main DJ on the first pirate radio station Radio Caroline that is cited for starting the British music explosion in the 1960’s. For most  of my career my main focus has been as a music writer, performer, producer, and recording artist. I have written hundreds of songs and co-written many more. I have played thousands of shows in many countries. But,  along the way I have also founded and managed a number of successful companies, all inspired by seeing distinct needs in the industry and setting out to answer those needs. As a successful leader, which three personal qualities do you believe contributed most to your success? It is always a different set of points depending on the challenge, timing is one, hard work is another but I think the main elements that have contributed to me being able to build companies that realized their goals is: Recognizing talent needed to build cohesive and productive teams. Listening to others, especially critical perspectives that have reason. And, not shying away from climbing tall mountains. I think if you are going to climb a mountain, why climb a small one? What are the aims and ideals that guide you as an individual and a professional? Having a positive impact is always key. For a company to grow and survive in the long term it needs to offer tangable, positive benefits for all whom it engages. The only good deal is where both sides win. This is not an easy thing to do, a win/win deal. There is always the fear of the other side’s motives. Are they being honest with their intent and their motives? I find taking the chance, being the lead with honesty in negotiations is a great way to move things forward in a positive way. It is also a great way to relieve tension and let the other side know you are at the table to build a long term, positive business relationship. This is also the same way to build long-term personal relationships, showing who you are. While starting your journey, what challenges did you encounter and how they were overcome? When working towards a vision of a better future, it isn’t an easy task to have others recognize and believe in that vision. Enthusiasm for a goal is easy when things run smoothly, which really is very rare. It takes digging in and doing the heavy lifting when the climb is steep and the top is not in sight. Keeping clarity on the “why we are doing this” is very important, for the whole team. When problems happen, which they always do, not making them a personal failure is very important. If someone dropped the ball it is the job of the rest of the team to pick it up and carry it to the goal line. Inspiring this ethic is the one of the jobs of the team leader. In addition to that, it is a very big business world that has tens of millions of companies all pushing to climb to the top of their sector, all racing to be the head of innovation. I think the trick is staying focused on your road map, while being open to adjusting, pivoting to the changing needs of the market and the changes that other’s innovations bring. Again, the why, the long term why, is very important. Who is your biggest inspiration in life? I have many and it has changed along the way. My father and my mother have been, major and, obviously, initial inspirations who have  taught me things that I carried through the years. My wife Karin is a big inspiration to me. She is a larger than life exponent for the truth and reality, not ever feeling sorry for yourself but proving what you are made of when things seem impossible. I also have had many heroes through my life, people I have admired for their ability to conquer obstacles and adversity, to go against the odds and keep pushing on a vision. One of my favourite quotes is from Benjamin Franklin,  goes something like this, 98% of human failure is from giving up just before success is obtained. This is a little frustrating as you never know if the current wall you face is the last one before success. But it does give the perspective of pushing through, continuing on and not stopping the climb till the top is reached. What would be your future endeavours and where do you see yourself in the near future? I am deeply focused on what SyncLodge is doing and the goals we have for the long term future, the positive effect we have and will have on the creative industries. Our roadmap is long, with some very steep climbs. I mark my future on SyncLodge obtaining these goals. I believe heavily in cooperation, not competition. Though competition can be healthy, cooperation breathes oxygen into an industry. I see SyncLodge being a part of a very energized ecosystem of companies all delivering positive change in a cohesive, involved, tide raising drive towards a healthy, creative world. We have the vision to end paperwork and move the sync industry into the digital world. Although incredible, the sync licensing is still reliant on manual, human, time intensive administrative tasks while the world is getting ready for an AI revolution. We will not only keep pace but we will lead the change. Mention some of the notable recognitions and accreditations received by your organization and person. We have won some very flattering recognitions over the year since we launched including winning the 2022/23 Specialist Media Platform Of The Year. I am very proud of these and am consistently very surprised that we have been noticed and recognized. I have won business

Tigran Hass
Spotlight

Tigran Haas (KTH Royal Institute of Technology) – Innovative Leader In Scientific Research And academic Excellence -2025

Tigran Hass Lab Director, Associate Professor, Guest Research Scholar at KTH Royal Institute of Technology The mother of all things, according to most great leaders, is the courage to dare to see and act when others do not. One such inspiring figure is Tigran Haas. He is the associate professor of urban development, planning and design and sustainable urbanism at KTH – The Royal Institute of Technology. Tigran maintains clear action items, goals, and objectives in the form of KPIs and CSFs, or Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors, respectively. Along with an optimistic outlook, a clear goal, a fairly easier approach, and multitasking, he places a high value on respect and reward! The Story of an Inspirational and Charismatic Leader   Tigran’s childhood dreams included being a top-tier architect and, afterwards, an elite urbanist. After high school, his aspirations of becoming an architect began to materialize. Later, when the complexity of cities and the spaces between them, rather than a single building, became an enormous magnet, these ambitions transformed into urban planning and urban design, also known as urbanism. Tigran completed his post-graduate and doctoral studies in environmental science and regional planning & development in the USA. He mentions, “The fact I got drawn into academia by pure chance or maybe by some strange set of circumstances was maybe a blessing in disguise. I guess those that cannot make it in the real world, they end up teaching, or those riding tiger cannot dismount.” While his mother worked as a lab researcher, chemist, and biotechnology specialist at MIT and the FDA, among other places, Tigran’s father was a university professor of theoretical physics and philosophy of science who used to visit the US frequently. This may have had some influence, but in some ways, his own path and the allure of academia—particularly the work with students, the thrilling exploration of gaps across courses, and the complexity of cities—were what truly captivated Tigran. The tenure-track position at KTH, where he is currently an Associate Professor of urban planning and urban design, is undoubtedly exceptional, and so is his research scholar position at MIT in Cambridge/Boston, the most esteemed and top-ranked university in the entire world. Tigran is currently working as a guest research fellow at the esteemed MIT Norman B. Leventhal Centre for Advanced Urbanism (LCAU). Prestigious Achievements Tigran lives by the 5Ps: Passion, Perseverance, Professionalism, Persuasion, and Playfulness! These are the five pillars of his professional life. Also, he feels that it is extremely important to use one’s talent to its fullest, to be courageous, and persevering while believing in one’s ideas. Talking about his greatest accomplishments, Tigran says, “I have written over 100 scholarly articles, 50 Conference Papers, 10 books, 3 Research Anthologies, and have been involved in teaching in International educational programs in urban planning, urban design, real estate development, environmental science and project and strategic management. I have supervised over 15 Ph.D. students as well as over 125 masters’ students.” He states his most rewarding experience was teaching project and strategic management for over 8 years at KTH (Stockholm) and ZSEM (Zagreb), where he learned the key elements of how to run projects, work with teams and people as well as lead and strategically assess the work and business environment, all which has helped him in running centres, labs and projects. Tigran takes great pride in serving as a steward to four honorary doctors at KTH, including Richard Florida, Saskia Sassen, Edward Glaeser, and Manuel Castells, one of the greatest urban thinkers of today. He has a Ph.D. and is currently pursuing postdoctoral fellowships at UC Berkeley, MIT, and the University of Michigan. Apart from that, he is now writing five new books for 2022–2025! KTH – Encouraging Sustainable Urban Development Tigran mentions, “Together with business and society, KTH is working on sustainable solutions to some of humanity’s greatest challenges: climate change, the energy supply of the future, urbanization and quality of life for a rapidly growing, aging population. KTH’s research and education cover both science and all branches of technology as well as architecture, industrial economics, social planning, history and philosophy.” Haas asserts that the institution views the evolving role of urban planning and design within broader interdisciplinary fields, as well as its consequences on people’s surroundings and social lives, as its primary professional concern. The mature story, in his opinion, began with CAL LAB and continued at the Centre for the Future of Places, which was founded to advance sustainable urban development by changing the focus of urban discourse from objects to places in order to advance healthy and liveable cities, within the fields of urban planning and urban design. The Mission and Objectives of KTH KTH – The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, founded in 1827, has grown to become one of Europe’s top technical universities and a significant hub for knowledge growth. Diversity-Equality, Internationalization & Sustainability are the three pillars of KTH’s vision, according to President Sigbritt Karlsson. From these ideologies, Tigran draws a handful of conclusions. First, it must demonstrate a dedication to breadth and brilliance in all areas of human inquiry, not just one specific one; second, world-class universities do cutting-edge research while simultaneously instructing the next generation, its students. Third, top universities must provide their researchers with the flexibility to try new things, succeed, and sometimes fail. Last but not least, barriers are permeable at leading institutions. KTH, Sweden’s largest institution for technical education and research, brings together students, researchers and faculty from all over the world. Additionally, the innovative climate promotes versatile solutions and its education creates a new generation of engineers, architects and teachers! Hardships brought on by Covid-19 In this new digital age, institutions are better positioned in a network society. Universities and college campuses, like those at MIT and KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, are places where students learn, interact, and live close to one another. They are also the centre of social and cultural hubs, bringing together students from all over the world to create social and human capital.

Sustainable Business Practices

Sustainability as Strategy: Embedding Circular Economy in Enterprise DNA As climate urgency accelerates and stakeholder expectations evolve, sustainability is no longer a corporate social responsibility checkbox—it is a business imperative. Enterprises are now reimagining operations, products, and value chains through the lens of circular economy principles, turning environmental stewardship into long-term strategic advantage. From Compliance to Competitive Edge The sustainability conversation has shifted. What began as regulatory pressure and reputational risk management is now a race to redesign business models for circularity. Leading organizations—like Nestlé, Dell, and L’Oréal—are investing in zero-waste manufacturing, regenerative supply chains, and product lifecycle innovation. In this new landscape, sustainability is not just ethical—it is economically rational. Investors, consumers, and employees increasingly favor businesses that prioritize planet-positive practices. What is the Circular Economy? The circular economy is a systemic shift from the traditional take-make-dispose model to one focused on: Resource efficiency and waste minimization Design for reuse, repair, and recycling Material recovery and closed-loop supply chains Product-as-a-service and extended product lifespans Sustainable sourcing and ethical procurement Circularity decouples growth from resource consumption, enabling both resilience and profitability. Building a Scalable Sustainability Strategy To operationalize sustainability at scale, enterprises are aligning core business functions with circular principles: Procurement: Partnering with green-certified vendors and traceable sourcing. Design: Creating modular, repairable products from recycled or biodegradable materials. Manufacturing: Implementing energy-efficient, low-waste production systems. Logistics: Optimizing reverse logistics for reuse and recycling. Technology: Leveraging AI and IoT to track, optimize, and report sustainability metrics. Sustainability must be embedded in enterprise architecture, not layered on as an afterthought. Leadership, Disclosure, and Governance ESG oversight is rising to the C-suite. Companies are appointing Chief Sustainability Officers, integrating ESG into board charters, and publishing science-based targets and disclosures aligned with frameworks like GRI, TCFD, and SBTi. Proactive reporting builds stakeholder trust and prepares organizations for tightening global regulations. Real-Time, Data-Driven, Transparent The future of sustainable business will be: Data-led: With ESG analytics driving real-time decision-making Transparent: Enabling third-party audits and stakeholder accountability Automated: Through sustainability dashboards and digital twins Verified: Via green certifications, lifecycle assessments, and impact reports Greenwashing is no longer tolerated—only verifiable impact earns loyalty. Conclusion: Sustainability is the New Digital Just as digital transformation redefined business in the last decade, sustainability will define the next. Enterprises that act decisively now—by embedding sustainability into their core strategy—will lead the markets of tomorrow. Sustainability is not a project. It is a mindset, a mechanism for resilience, and a multiplier of long-term value. AI Assurance and Governance

AI Assurance and Governance: Building Trust in an Algorithmic Era As artificial intelligence rapidly integrates into every facet of business, governance and assurance are emerging as non-negotiables. While the power of AI continues to scale, so do the questions surrounding its transparency, fairness, accountability, and societal impact. AI assurance and governance aren’t just risk management tactics—they are strategic imperatives for organizations aiming to build sustainable, responsible AI systems that meet regulatory expectations and earn public trust. The Rise of Responsible AI   With the proliferation of generative models, autonomous decision systems, and predictive analytics, the conversation around AI has shifted. It is no longer just about capability—it is about control. Governments, regulators, and industry leaders are calling for frameworks that ensure AI technologies operate ethically, legally, and reliably. From the EU’s AI Act to the White House’s Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights, global efforts are accelerating. What is AI Assurance?   AI assurance refers to the mechanisms, tools, and processes used to validate that an AI system performs as intended, aligns with organizational values, and meets ethical and regulatory standards. It includes practices such as: Bias and fairness audits Model explainability testing Data lineage tracking Robustness and adversarial testing Ongoing compliance monitoring Assurance is the bridge between technical development and organizational accountability. Key Principles of AI Governance A robust AI governance strategy typically encompasses the following pillars: Transparency – Clear documentation of data sources, model design, and decision logic. Accountability – Defined roles and escalation protocols when AI systems fail or cause harm. Fairness – Systems are audited for bias, discrimination, or disproportionate impact. Security and Privacy – Compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and emerging AI-specific standards. Human Oversight – Ensuring humans remain in the loop, especially in high-risk use cases. The Role of C-Suite Leadership   AI governance is not just a technical issue—it’s a boardroom conversation. Forward-thinking organizations are appointing Chief AI Officers or expanding the roles of CISOs and Chief Compliance Officers to include AI oversight. Multi-disciplinary governance committees are being formed to ensure AI systems align with both business goals and social values. The Future: From Audits to Real-Time Assurance   The future of AI assurance will be continuous, automated, and integrated into the software development lifecycle. Just as cybersecurity moved from static audits to real-time threat monitoring, AI will require “always-on” governance, driven by machine learning operations (MLOps), AI observability tools, and automated ethical compliance checks. In parallel, third-party assurance providers and certification standards will emerge to validate AI systems—similar to financial audits or ISO certifications. Conclusion: Trust as a Competitive Edge   As AI becomes ubiquitous, trust will define market leadership. Companies that embed assurance and governance into their AI strategies will not only mitigate risk but also unlock competitive advantage by demonstrating responsibility, reliability, and resilience. The future of AI is not just intelligent—it must also be accountable. Fintech Sector’s Rapid Growth

Fintech Sector’s Rapid Growth: Reshaping the Future of Finance The fintech sector has undergone a dramatic transformation in the last decade—what began as a disruptive force is now a dominant driver of global financial innovation. From digital wallets and blockchain to AI-powered underwriting and embedded finance, fintech has redefined how consumers and businesses interact with money. This growth is not slowing down. In fact, it’s accelerating across emerging markets and established economies alike, challenging traditional banking norms and enabling unprecedented financial inclusion. A Shift from Disruption to Infrastructure   Fintech’s evolution is marked by a shift from niche disruption to critical infrastructure. Startups that once targeted single pain points—like peer-to-peer payments or online lending—are now offering end-to-end financial ecosystems. APIs, open banking protocols, and cloud-native architectures have enabled these players to integrate deeply into everyday consumer and business platforms. Traditional banks, once wary of fintech competition, are now partnering or acquiring these innovators to accelerate their own digital transformation journeys. Key Drivers Behind the Momentum   Several macro trends are fueling the fintech boom: Digital-first behavior: Consumers now expect seamless, mobile-first financial experiences. Regulatory support: Sandboxes and progressive policies in regions like Singapore, the UAE, and the UK are encouraging responsible innovation. Venture capital investment: Despite global economic headwinds, fintech remains one of the most funded tech sectors. AI and data analytics: Real-time credit scoring, fraud detection, and personalized banking are powered by intelligent systems that learn and adapt. Fintech Use Cases Transforming Industries Fintech’s impact extends far beyond consumer banking: SME Lending: Platforms like Kabbage and Funding Circle are providing small businesses with fast, data-driven access to capital. Insurance (Insurtech): AI is automating claims processing, underwriting, and risk assessment in real time. WealthTech: Robo-advisors and AI-enabled portfolio management tools are democratizing investment access. Cross-border Payments: Blockchain and stablecoins are streamlining remittances and global commerce, especially in underbanked regions. Challenges on the Horizon   Despite rapid expansion, fintech faces critical challenges. Data privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory harmonization, and the need for responsible AI implementation are pressing concerns. With rising scrutiny from regulators and growing expectations from consumers, the sector must balance speed with stability. Trust and transparency will be the new currency. The Future: Embedded, Inclusive, and Intelligent   Fintech is moving beyond standalone apps toward embedded finance, where services are integrated directly into non-financial platforms—ride-hailing, e-commerce, even social media. This invisible layer of finance will redefine user expectations and open new monetization models. The fintech sector’s trajectory is clear: it’s not just innovating financial products—it’s rearchitecting financial systems. As we look ahead, inclusive growth, adaptive regulation, and cross-sector collaboration will define the next phase of fintech’s global expansion.   More Stories Worth Reading Business Sustainable Business Practices Business AI Assurance and Governance Business Generative AI Integration Across Industries
